Traveling is what we have been doing all summer. We have made several trips to and from SC and just got back from Memphis. Now that Katie is sleeping through the night (yeah!!!!!!!!!!), we get in the car when she goes to bed around 9pm and by the time she wakes up around 6:30am, we have arrived at our destination. Before we figured this awesome routine out, our trips would take around 12 hours to complete. It was really draining to say the least. We have 1 more trip planned to SC in 2 weeks and that should be it until the holiday season rolls around.
While in Memphis this week a principal to a local high school left a message to see if I was interested in a math position at her school. I am going to return her call first thing Monday am...we'll see what happens. Not only would I be teaching again, but I would have a salary!!! (I haven't been salaried since Dec. 2005) I know that money doesn't make the world go round, but it sure makes it easier!
Speaking of traveling, Amy is going to Thailand this week. She has a friend that is applying for dual citizenship and Amy is going with him because she doesn't have to work. She also has 2 other flight attendant friends that are making the trip with them...so a total of 4 people to explore Thailand with! How awesome is that! She will be going to Bangkok and then one of the resort islands hit by the tsunami. Because they are all flight attendants and there's room on the plane, they are all going to fly 1st class free of charge. She has to pay for food and sleeping arrangements. I can honestly say that I don't ever think I will see Thailand....and I don't think Amy would have either if it hadn't been for her flight attendant career. She really has been able to see the world...Frankfurt, Osaka, Paris to name a few.
