It's been a (crazy) week

I have been reading all of the blogs that I usually do, but haven't taken the time to post anything new. This could get lengthy...

I've been out of sorts this week. I have had a pretty bad cough for the last week and even had a coughing spell on Wednesday night that made my sides sore. By Friday, my sides were feeling better, but my cough remained and during 3rd period, while coughing, something "popped" on my left side near my ribs. Hurt like h**l. Was able to get to the doctor that day and was diagnosed with bronchitis and a pulled muscle/ligament something-or-another. Have you ever heard of such? I pulled something coughing. Crazy. For the cough, I was given a prescription for an inhaler, antibiotic and cough syrup...for the muscle/ligament thingy, a heating pad and some ibuprofen. I'm getting better, but I think the cough syrup has crack in it, because it knocks me on my a**. I've never slept better.

Ty's new thing is the Power Rangers. He's the Red one. I think I might have to return his pirate Halloween costume for a red power ranger. Ty is also under the impression that Danny and I are supposed to do what he says when he says it. And if we don't follow his rules, he will yell, cry hysterically, pitch a fit, etc. My "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" son, however, is as sweet as can be with Katie and it's truly endearing. She has started laughing at Ty while he is playing and he loves performing for her. It's so sweet to see him want to please her.

Katie is 4 1/2 months and is wearing 9 month clothing. She is so long! I started feeding her a little rice cereal this weekend. It took her a little time to get used to the spoon, but she seems to like the cereal. It's helping to fill her up, because the bottles aren't cutting it anymore. Like TB's little one, Katie has found her toes and loves to put them in her mouth. It's been cool up here lately (high 63 last Saturday) so socks have interrupted the toe sucking for now. By the way, Katie rolled over from her back to her belly the other day and weighs 17 lbs (per her 4 month checkup).

Danny and our neighbor discovered that we have grubs in our lawn and they have devised a plan to kill the little boogers. Lowe's here we come. Let's just hope our pocketbooks can handle this. Remember I'm a substitute with 1 kid on formula and 2 in diapers.

I love hand-me-downs. Somebody Mike works with and I went to HS with were done having girls. They were actually done with any other kind of kid too :) We got all of their stuff-- I think I have bought my child 2 or 3 outfits.
Katie sounds like my boys, although she's got length--D didn't have a neck by the time he was 4 months. Carly just had her 4mo checkup and wighed 12.5--but she is also really long. I'm not used to such skinny babies. I'm thinking of letting her try some applesauce this week, I've played with cereal, but not very recently. She was going nuts to hav some pizza tonight, but I think we'll start with something easier
Send some of that cough syrup my way!!

Sorry you've been feeling so bad! Crazy stuff has been going around here lately, but (knock on wood) I haven't gotten it lately. Keep the leftover cough syrup...stuff like that always comes in handy!!!
