Our school district didn't pass the levy in March, therefore, $4.5 million in budget cuts....34 teacher positions included. There goes my chance at a job in the district I live in.
I have some sort of a head cold right now. My throat is killing me and teaching/talking during the day really aggrivates it. Today in 2nd period I made the kids do all of the work. As a review, I had them put all of the answers to the HW on the board and then they had to explain how they got the answer. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do that during my Algebra 1 classes...and I have 3 of them back to back. I was introducing a new chapter and really needed to pull from their prior knowledge to make connections. I'm going to quiz on Friday...maybe I can rest my voice then!
Danny is going through something big work related right now. Keep thinking about him as he works towards his goal.
We are going to be joining the church and Katie will be baptized on the first Sunday in May. Danny and I have to take 2 membership education classes so they will be the next 2 Sundays. I'm interested to see what we talk about. I joined the handbell choir at church and we are working towards a May 18 performance. Five people showed up and it was kind of like the Bad News Bears. One older (and I mean older) gentleman said that he wasn't sure he was going to be able to do this because his reflexes weren't fast enough and his glasses weren't strong enough to read the music. I was proud of the director for trying to keep him involved and giving him 1 note to focus on. He stood beside me that afternoon and I'm not sure if I heard him ring, but he was trying.

I love handbells! I'm so excited that you joined. We practice every Tuesday and it is my time with adults that is not work related.
