Thursday was our Saturday

Yesterday was an inservice day. A teacher in the district told me that our school district always has an inservice day on the anniversary of the Columbine shootings. Can you believe it has been 9 years? Do you remember where you were? I was student teaching at Daniel and it was an eye-opening experience, to say the least.

On a light note, because it was an inservice and I am a substitute, I didn't have to go for the entire day. I was home after the morning session by 11am and Danny took the day off as well because we were having day-care issues. Long story short, we were both home and we were motivated! Danny cut the grass, I edged the beds and then we took a trip to Lowe's. Grub killer, grass seed, top soil and many bags of mulch later, our yard is looking good! We kept talking about how hard it was to go inside and prepare for work the next day. It felt so much like Saturday! I'm excited that we were able to accomplish all of that on Thursday, because we will be able to spend more time together as a family tomorrow.

On Sunday we have our 2nd new membership class at church. Danny and I are supposed to complete some reading, which neither of us have yet, and come with questions/comments for discussion. Should be interesting.

Katie turns one on Monday. We aren't going to celebrate until next weekend when both sets of grandparents are coming in for Katie's christening on May 4th. It's hard to believe our little girl is going to be one! She's happy and healthy and we are so fortunate to have our beautiful children in our lives.

What a fantastic way to have a Thursday. We did yard work on Saturday, and I spent all of today being sore from the digging, re-planting and mulching... it would be nice to have not dreaded every standing/sitting in church... I should see if Kevin can take Thursday's off.

WOW - a one year old... That's fantastic! Happy birthday!!

Ok, what the hell is edging the bed? Because, I make my beds and all, but apparently I don't edge them. :-)
