lottery ticket (possible) quandry

I'm introducing probability and odds to my algebra 1 students tomorrow with scratch-off lottery tickets. I have 1 for each class (total of 3) and can't wait to see if I win anything...or do I mean we? If I (we?) win, do I have to share the $$ with my students?!? The max $$ on any of these tix is $500. Even though there is such a small chance that anything will come up, what if????? And to top it off, I bought 2 for a coworker because she is going to do the same thing. Now, she paid me for them already, so they are technically hers, but...which two do I give her? And how awful would it be if the two random ones I chose to give her were big winners? Oh, I haven't felt this excited about the future since the judging of our holiday sweater competition!!

Clearly, should she win, you pull the sweater back out, turn on all the lights which will daze her while you switch tickets.

Great teaching idea too!

One of my tickets won $2 today!!!!! My coworker chose to not scratch her tickets so I won't have to resort to the good 'ole switcharoo this time!
