It's 55 degrees here. Now I have the delima of what winter-like clothes do I have that I can fit into. I had the summer/fall thing under control, but not so much the cold weather stuff....and you can't wear pre-baby jeans to work everyday!
Katie has a little cough. She's sleeping through the night without waking b/c of her cough. Pray it stays that way. She's right under that 6-month medicine mark, so Vick's vapor rub and saline drops are about the only thing that could be given right now. Granted, they help a little, but they don't work as well as the plug-in things from Sudafed. Miracle workers from heaven sent that to moms and dads with congested babies.
Ty's tantrums are driving me crazy. They are all so manipulative...he's smarter than he needs to be sometimes. Today, while making a cute little craft that I thought would be fun and keep him away from the TV, a fit began because...wait, I have no idea why the fit began. But I do know that it lasted long enough for me to be so frustrated that after he was up in his room, I started crying. I'm not a crier usually, so I was shocked that this was my reaction. It's human, I know and having my period doesn't help anything either. (sorry, tmi) When will this end? And when this ends, what's next?
It's "jungle day" at school tomorrow for Homecoming week and I don't have anything to wear. Today was "preppy day" and it was really a pointless dress up day. This school is known for the money that the parents have and every day is "preppy day". The kids drive nicer cars than the teachers and almost every girl carries a Coach purse. I carry knock-off Coach bags; these girls carry knock-off Gucci bags.

that school sounds like WFHS. we had a porsche in the parking lot... a girl in our class drove it.
I've decided my fav winter clothes are long skirts (like a long a-line wool kind) and tights. Yes- tights are a bitch to get in and out of but skirts are very size and shape forgiving. (unlike pants) Plus the long ones tend to keep the wintery winds out and they won't blow up and over your head. That with a sweater is my standard "winter work wardrobe".
Not that I can give parenting advice (although I wish I could because I'm a problem solver and I'd like to be able to help you and MadHatter more!!!!) but I'm pretty confident that you are not the only mom that has broken down in frustration over a toddler!!
Tell me more about the details of this girls weekend in Feb????
WF was nothing compared to the Catholic HS I went to in MI--it was standard for parents to bring a brand-new car to school w/ a big bow on top--think Mercedes, BMW etc
Tantrums--grrrr! Jake was not as big into it as D (so there is hope that you won't have to go through it all over w/ Katie). And D is really just getting in to it (almost 5), I go back and forth on how to deal with it, but one of my friends suggested making fun of them--I'm not sure how I feel about that, but its worth a shot
She would tell her kid to hang on, she wanted to make popcorn and get a drink to watch the show...it pissed him off so much he would refuse to pitch it...
