2007 has come and gone. Our highlights....we had a baby and I wrecked my car. We don't want to do either ever again!
Met with the Ob-Gyn the other day and she recommends the vasectomy as the best method of permanent birth control. So, Danny will take one for the team! He was game before the doctor weighed in, but when I told him what the final verdict was, you could hear the underlying...uh oh.
Got a new vehicle...2007 Trail Blazer. Thanks to Kelly at Herlong Chevrolet (they are family, you know) in Johnston for making buying a car like a ride at Disney! I really like it and it drives so much smoother than my Explorer did. I am official a Chevy/GMC girl but will never put "the bow tie" sticker on my back windshield. I bought it in SC and there is a cap on tax on vehicles. Where I live, you have to pay sales tax. So, I have to do some research, but I think we are going to have to fork up close to $1000 to pay the taxes. More financial woes. Pray that I can find a full time teaching job for the 2008-2009 school year. I don't know what we will do if I have to sub for another year. Why is it so damn hard to get hired around here?
Christmas was great. We went to Clemson and loved seeing Ty really get into it this year. Santa called him on Christmas Eve and Ty was amazed. It brought tears to my eyes.
When I looked up to see if anyone noticed, Mama and Amy were crying also! They loved it as much as we did, despite their lack of tears. Really, can you imagine Danny crying over a phone call from Santa? Santa brought Ty his goggles and a Bumblebee Transformer and other family members showered him with Spiderman gear.
I joined Weight Watchers for that extra assistance that I just couldn't seem to do on my own. Danny's company included WW in their $150 "Wellness Allowance" also, so I get the membership fee reimbursed. Why not try it? I joined late on Saturday night with the online membership. Amazingly enough, Saturday was the day we drove back home and even with 2 fast food meals under my belt, I didn't do that bad. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to commit to the time needed to record my points, research the points, etc. but it hasn't been that bad. I have had success before with WW, so hopefully I will again! I'm not sure how much detail I will go into WW on my blog, but I will at least post my weekly lbs lost or gained....without revealing the total. I may tell a lot, but I can't tell everything.
Katie is already 8 months old and is in the process of cutting her 4th tooth. She can official sit up on her own and just recently starting pushing up onto her knees. She'll rock a little back and forth and then drops back to her belly. Her biggest issue right now is dry, sensitive skin. We have to constantly use lotions and potions (some prescription strength) to keep her from being red, scaly, irritated, itchy, rashed, etc. Like Ty, I think this is a product of cold, dry, wintry weather and newborn skin not getting along. She loves to smile and is such a happy baby!

I agree that a car wreck should not be in the cards for 2008...
it still just blows me away a little that you guys are already talking about the "snip-snip" and we have even started yet. I'm such a wuss. I mean really - when would I find time for kids when I'm elbow deep in grout?? : )
I hope 2008 is everything you hope it to be!!
Will says that he is never getting the big V, and I told him that he will have nobody to blame but himself when we have that durprise baby when I am 40. LOL. Good for you that you guys are on the same page. I hope that 2008 brings lots of happiness for you and your family. And thanks for blogging!
I guess I thought you knew I had a blog...sorry! Mom and I will be able to help you this weekend with WW. We were kinda worried about eating well while we are there, but this will help us all stay good. Can't wait to see you all!
We too are done--M was going to to do th"Big V"; however I went ahead and had things done during the section. We have both already cried (ok, I cry, he sighs) about not being able to have any more together. But this is why I had it done--I knew that left up to him, we would end up with at least 1 or 2 more!!
Congrats onfinishing a big year well!! you forgot the coolest of all--your sunroof escape--you are def THE coolest!!
