Merry Christmas! (updated)

We traveled to Memphis for Christmas and had a great time! We were there a full week and had lots of fun visiting different sites in town as well as enjoying the warm weather at the local park. Our hometown experienced record highs while we were gone, but nothing like 75 degrees! We really didn't pack the right clothing for this trip and what a wonderful problem to have!! On Monday we visited the Memphis Children's Museum. We have been there once before last Thanksgiving when Ty was 3 and Katie was only a few months old. I knew she would have a great time and Ty was excited about our return trip! There was a little "river" where Ty and Katie were able to fish and play with little water toys. I think this was Katie's favorite part of the day and Ty had a blast fishing. The little rod used magnets to catch the fish and Danny, Kristi and myself would have to corral the fish, take them upstream and let them float down into his "fishing hole"...so much for the little waterfall helping the water flow! There is also a mock grocery store filled with empty food boxes and plastic fruit and veggies for kids to shop. Ty has a blast last year actually shopping but this year he was taken by the working cash registers. He told us he was a "casher". Katie really enjoyed shopping and this was probably her next favorite thing to do at the Museum. She loaded her cart down with boxes of frozen, breaded shrimp, carrots and plums. Christmas was awesome this year and everyone was so generous with their gift giving and watching the kids was even better. Here's our plate of cookies that Ty picked out for Santa along with the chocolate milk that we left (no, Santa didn't get any Bailey's). We also left the Elf for Santa to take back to the North Pole. Have y'all heard about the Elf...it is a cult phenom around here! Check out Katie's expression when she was looking with Ty at his very first toy he opened...a Jungle Fury Power Ranger collection with 3 figurines and the Bat Ranger motorcycle. Katie was so excited! Ty really wanted the Marvel Transformers Crossovers Venom and here he is showing it off.I hope you and your families enjoyed the holiday as much as we did. It's always rejuvenating to spend time with family and take some time off from work! Merry Christmas everyone!
