Grunting, pouting, and whining, oh my!

Oh the terrible 4's....or should I say the "I want to be independent and make my own decisions so when Mom and Dad tell me what to do I will turn into the loudest most obnoxious being on the face of the earth" 4's. Today my precious one was unhappy about nap time and called me "poopy pinky b.utt" and topped it like a cherry with "girl". Ty is now using the word girl as a cut down. I wonder about my sophmores at school that I overhear calling their mom the b-word...did they start off with "poopy pinky b.utt girl". Is this a gate-way word? Needless to say it is the equivalent to me right now, so I washed his mouth out with soap (haven't had to do that in a long time). Yep, green glycerin juniper scented from Bath and Body. Now he is fast asleep, definitely what he needed, and will probable wake up happy and cheerful. Oh how I love my Jekyll and Hyde. On a more positive note, Ty slept the night through without a diaper and did NOT wet the bed!

Ah, the old soap in the mouth bit. An oldy but goody. We are thinking about bringing back the boxing of ears and "go to bed without supper"

Ah, the 2 (or 25,000) faces of a 4 year old. I am right there with you! I love the comment about the "gateway" word. All I can say is good luck! And as a silver lining, at least he hasn't said he hates you yet! (Annabeth hasn't said this either, but I have several friends whose pre-Kers have, and they say it cuts right to the bone).
