Random things

Danny and I had our 7th anniversary on Monday. One of the many things that I thought about was how many of our friends and family supported us on our wedding day. I hope I told you then in 2001, but if not, thank you for supporting us on our special day! We're still going strong.

Katie is up to walking 5-6 steps at a time and will be walking full force in no time. We had Ty and Katie playing in the sand the other day and she put an entire handful in her mouth. Our beach trip at the end of the summer should be interesting....but fun!

I attended the Child Protection Training class at church last week so that I can work with children under 18. The class is based off of the Safe Sanctuary program and I am happy to know that policies are in place. (Until this class, I didn't even know that specific programs like this existed!) I figure that if I'm going to put my children in the nursery, then I should volunteer. If I'm going to send my children to Sunday School, then I should teach it. When I told the Sunday School coordinator this, she about jumped for joy. It seems the church is really struggling to find volunteers for the Sunday school classes.

I hated to see UGA lose this week. Man, the Fresno State players did an awesome job hitting the ball. The games in the series were fun to watch, especially Georgia's comeback on Monday! And the score from Tuesday looked more like a football score, than a baseball score.

Congrats on 7 years!! I can't believe that much time has passed! I remember what a wimp I was at your wedding - you looked SO beautiful (still do!) and I was SO happy for Danny to find so a great person to spend his life with that when I saw you two I TOTALLY burst into tears! A totally spontaneous emotional moment. God - I'm about to do it now just thinking about it!!! (I must be PMS-ing!! :)

And on a totally different note - the class you took - I used to coach a high school rowing program at a Catholic high school (thank goodness they didn't screen me for my thoughts on evolution ; ) (see Madhatters blog for THAT topic...) and I had to take a similar class. (well, I'm assuming it's similar) My class was a CYA on how to work with kids - like never be alone with any of them- ex. never give one a ride home by yourself. If something like that arises always have another adult present. You know - things that may seem harmless to a well-meaning person but may come back to bite them.

On one had it's good that something like that is provided. On the other hand it's sad that we have creeps out there that have forced us to have to have classes like that.
