I'm here

I'm here and for a while I was reading everyone's blog without posting, but lately, I haven't even logged on to the computer for personal use. School started last Tuesday and as a new teacher in the district I had to attend orientation week. Did I tell you I finally got a full-time position? I really can't remember. If not, here's the scoop. It's at one of the local high schools and I teach algebra 1 to freshmen and a pre-algebra class to sophmores. I got the call from an assistant principal offering me the job and I didn't have to interview. Just shows how much the system in this district is a "who you know" type deal. I love the school and the other teachers in the department and I couldn't be happier!

The rest of the family is doing great. Not much to report. Ty is still into his PowerRangers and Star Wars. He has declared that he will be a Storm Trooper for Halloween and he wants to have a Star Wars birthday party. He will definitely be receiving a Lightsaber as a gift or we will never hear the end of it. Katie is always asking "what's that?" and her new favorite word is "nack", short for snack. We discovered recently that she can eat fruit snacks without having any issues (choking, gagging, and any other potentially life threatening issue associated with not being able to chew and swallow your food). I had the biggest thrill at the grocery store the other day buying a box of Cars fruit snacks for Ty and a separate box of Strawberry Shortcake for Katie!
